Prosperity Peacock Collection Samples
Artists Statement
The Peacock as India’s national bird traditionally has a role as a protector which symbolises prosperity, royalty, fertility, love and joy. Buddhism, is a large part of the Indian culture and something I’m interested in, I was inspired by the quotation;
“We are shaped by our thoughts, we become what we think, when the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves” (563 BC – 483 BC) Buddha
Within a home an area for relaxing and unwinding from the modern way of life is something many people find they need in order to escape from a busy lifestyle. Taking a deeper insight into the Indian culture and studying the beauty of the Peacock inspired the use of paisley, ikat, exotic patterns and birds, natural fabrics and a bohemian colour palate of blues, purples, reds, oranges and neutrals, all add to the meditative atmosphere.
The end of one road... onto the next
Well the time has come, i have finished my final major module at university and i can now share with you a selection of my designs. Over the next few years i plan to build a business based on textile design for interior furnishings and products. I would appreciate it so much if you could share the following posts, social networking as we know seems to be the best way to get yourself out there once i hit 500 likes i will do a give-away prize draw to one of my followers (randomly selected). If you're not following my Facebook page, now is the time to start... https://www.facebook.com/hannahelizabethdesigns

Prosperity Peacock
My new & current work will be under the title 'prosperity peacock', a theme based on the peacock himself, other exotic birds and indian culture, taking an insight into buddishm and meditation. I'm designing a collection of motifs & patterns appropriate for the interior market and home ware products. Pics of some of my drawings, batik and fabric painting samples so far to follow, keep watching...
Celtic Medieval Greetings Products
Here are my final products from first term, Sept to Dec 2013.
They are a selection of greetings from personalised cards, wrapping paper and ribbons, to gift tags, bags & crackers.
These products were based on my theme Celtic Medieval... with a metallic luxurious finish, using a rich colour pallete.
I have been away for a while, blogging has shamefully been put to one side for an extreme length of time, but i'm pleased to say i have returned. The time i have been away has been spent on entering the third and final year of university, and before that holding down several cleaning jobs over the summer in the surrounds of my home town, Llanwrtyd Wells. Stay tuned for updates on what has happened so far in my design world during my final year at uni... <3
